Trade your cell phone handset today

We are starting to see bad PR aimed at the new breed of company who offer mobile phone recycling. Many clients have tried to cash in their mobile, but when the money landed in their bank account people noticed the payment was for the broken rate rather than the premium working rate. You really need to avoid this in order to make the most of the true value of your handset the following few paragraphs should aid you in doing this:

Never attempt to pass off a broken handset as a working one

Recycling companies that you sell your old mobiles to will test your mobile phone, a damaged display or phone that wont turn on is easy to spot and only takes a few seconds, however, underlying issues are much less obvious. There are heard tails where people get paid the premium working rate even though they have sent in a mobile with a broken mic or speaker, however, these are likely to be the exception not the rule. Testing these faculties is becoming a quick and easy process. Even if the handset has a less than obvious breakage then it will most likely be noticed. If your handset is not working you are better off been honest in advance to make sure the transaction is completed quickly and effectively. Minor software/hardware faults can sometimes slip through the net but if you choose to try this approach then you will need to be prepared for the consequences and you could well find yourself having to shell out for the return of the handset if you are unable to come to some agreement.

General wear and tear is expected
When you are offered a price it has wear and tear factored in and the handset is expect to have been put through substantial use. Lots of people use a mobile for years, some people are heavy users and others only use their phones in emergencies. Worn down keys, chips, scratches and small dents are all acceptable. The best way to decide if a phone is subject to wear and tear or actually classed as damaged is to ask yourself if the handset is mealy damaged cosmetically or if there is any actual damage.

The charger
Some companies insist that you return the charger with the phone, even if this too is broke. Youll have to double check with the company you go with.
